LILY BLAU is a journalist/playwright-turned-TV writer, who is currently writing her first novel. Select television projects include MINDWALKER, adapted from the novel by Amanda Steiger, with Warner Bros. Studios and LuckyChap Prod.; GILT, a period drama for Sony/Astronauts Wanted; FREE TO FALL, a YA series for StyleHaul, adapted from the novel by Lauren Miller; WE ARE THE HOLLOWAYS with Lindy Goldstein Prod. and Twelve Town, and MILLENNIUM GIRL, adapted from the novel by Coerte V. W. Felske, with Pioneer Pictures. Lily has also been a staff writer on the teen dramas CROWN LAKE and CHICKEN GIRLS, and the kid’s comedy MANI.
Select theatrical projects include: THE MISSING PAGES OF LEWIS CARROLL (World Premiere: The Theatre at Boston Court, 2015, Los Angeles; recipient of: Scenie Award - Best World Premiere Plays of 2015; Sage Award - Playwriting); and THE LADY IN GOLD, adapted from the non-fiction book by Anne-Marie O’Connor (developmental workshop: The Stella Adler Studio, New York City, 2013); THE GIRLS PLAY (Winner: Best Script, Vignettes Festival, New York City, 2010), and THE SEVEN SEDUCTIONS OF TAYLOR SWIFT (LA Fringe, contributing writer). Lily has also served as the Playwright in Residence at Occidental College.
As a journalist, Lily has written essays and articles from a feminist perspective on subjects ranging from art, to the economy, to stripping. Her work has been published by the Huffington Post; Sirens Magazine (now Sexy Feminist Magazine); Alternet; and Mercer Street, among others. Lily holds a BFA from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts with concentrations in writing, drama, and French. She is originally from the Boston area, and currently resides in Los Angeles.
